About the role

The Senior Food Service Worker - La Jolla position is responsible for performing a variety of duties related to patient food service, cafe operation, sanitation, and food production/catering. Duties include assembling patient trays and food carts, routine cleaning/stocking of pantries, and other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assembles patient trays and food carts in a timely manner with attention to detail and quality.
• Responsible for routine cleaning/stocking of pantries and other duties as assigned.
• Responsible to practice quality customer service at all times.
• Follow department established recipes and properly label and date all prepared and stored food items.
• Follow department dress code policy.
• Uphold all departmental sanitation and safety standards as well as all additional department policies and procedures.

Requirements

• At least one (1+) year of food service/related experience, preferably in a fast-paced, customer service-based hospitality environment.
• Demonstrated ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare food service experience.
• Customer service training.
• Tray-line experience.
• Sanitation and dishwashing experience.

Special Conditions

• Ability to bend, squat, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay, Benefits, and Schedule

Annual Full Pay Range: $52,555 - $62,786 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%).

Hourly Equivalent: $25.17 - $30.07.

This position is eligible for full benefits (Heath/Vision/Dental) first day of hire: Meal vouchers and complimentary coffee/tea/drinks. Vacation/holidays (15 vacation days & 14 paid holidays a year).
