A rewarding career at Banner Health, a certified Great Place To Work®. We are seeking a skilled Senior Food Service Worker to plan and oversee daily food production, preparing high-quality food items based on café menus and catering requests.

Responsibilities

• Plans daily food production for assigned areas and produces all food items based on café menus, catering requests, and other approved sources.
• Manages food production timing and quantities; determines menu substitutions in the event of shortages.
• Minimizes food waste with appropriate planning and tracking; records food shortages and excess quantities.
• May take inventories of all food products and settle catering and interdepartmental food charges in computer program.
• Prepares all food items according to standardized recipes; adjusts recipe quantities for correct yields.
• Notifies supervisor of any problems relating to production.
• Provides service to customers, meeting standards and guidelines; responds to customer complaints and assists with problem resolution.
• Accurately records all sales in the Point of Sale System; transacts payments with customers.
• Stores, counts, deposits, and maintains register cash and receivables in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Runs reports to analyze sales and cash accuracy.
• Maintains par levels of food and supplies in assigned areas; orders and/or restocks items in accordance with established routines.
• Rotates food stocks, checks freshness dates, and logs food and equipment temperatures; reports any problems to supervisor.
• Maintains all assigned stations, keeping them clean, well-stocked, and attractive at all times.
• Cleans and sanitizes dishes, flatware, trays, cups, glasses, cooking utensils, designated equipment, and kitchen areas; disposes of waste materials.
• May provide full-range catering and special event services.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Must be able to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required.
• Two or more years of similar work experience in production cooking, plus a solid understanding of cooking principles, menu substitutions, and recipe modifications.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills, a friendly customer service attitude, and the ability to accurately calculate and count change rapidly and repetitively.
• Ability to function autonomously, exercising good judgment and organizational skills.
• For Banner Staffing Services (BSS) team members, the food handlers' card is required within 30 days of hire (not required for BSS team members in Tucson and Colorado).

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior customer service experience and kitchen experience.

Schedule

• Saturday & Sunday: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
• Monday, Tuesday & Friday: 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM
• Wednesday & Thursday: Off
