The Senior Fire Protection Designer position is listed on behalf of a partner company managing all applications and next steps. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fire protection professional to lead the design and coordination of complex industrial and manufacturing projects.

About the role

Lead the design and coordination of multiple industrial and manufacturing fire protection projects from pre-construction through final design. Collaborate with pre-construction teams during bid pursuits by providing technical support, hydraulic calculations, layout assistance, and constructability input. Produce detailed fire protection system designs, stock listings, hydraulic calculations, and accurate project documentation. Develop and maintain high-quality 3D BIM models while participating in BIM coordination meetings with multidisciplinary project teams. Work closely with engineering teams to obtain permitting approvals and ensure designs comply with applicable codes and project requirements. Manage competing priorities across multiple projects while maintaining quality, accuracy, and project schedules in a fast-paced environment. Build strong working relationships with internal teams and clients by providing responsive communication and professional technical support. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional design-related responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in fire protection system design, preferably supporting industrial or manufacturing projects.
  • NICET Certification required; NICET Level III certification preferred.
  • Strong expertise in hydraulic calculations, fire protection layouts, blueprint interpretation, and system design.
  • Proficiency with HydraCAD, AutoSPRINK, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and HASS software.
  • Experience developing 3D BIM models and participating in multidisciplinary BIM coordination processes.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, communication, collaboration, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer service.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
