Responsibilities

  • Design fire alarm, fire suppression, and special hazard systems.
  • Review and develop fire alarm and fire protection system plans.
  • Collaborate with a variety of engineering and architectural disciplines.
  • Communicate with clients and write technical reports.
  • Cookordination and preparation of schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
  • Aid in spatial coordination with architecture and other engineering systems.
  • Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment to produce integrated project documents and ensure integrated design approaches and solutions.
  • Interface with local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) and building owner insurance representatives.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of related fire protection design experience.
  • Experience in fire suppression, fire alarm, and special hazard system design.
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and fire protection-related computational programs.
  • Knowledge of ICC and NFPA codes and standards.
  • Experience in Mission Critical and/or Semiconductor markets preferred.
  • CFPS, EIT, and/or NICET certification preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree, Engineering Technology degree, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related fire protection design experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
