Senior Fire Protection Designer

Responsibilities
- Design fire alarm, fire suppression, and special hazard systems.
- Review and develop fire alarm and fire protection system plans.
- Collaborate with a variety of engineering and architectural disciplines.
- Communicate with clients and write technical reports.
- Cookordination and preparation of schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
- Aid in spatial coordination with architecture and other engineering systems.
- Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment to produce integrated project documents and ensure integrated design approaches and solutions.
- Interface with local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) and building owner insurance representatives.
Requirements
- 8+ years of related fire protection design experience.
- Experience in fire suppression, fire alarm, and special hazard system design.
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and fire protection-related computational programs.
- Knowledge of ICC and NFPA codes and standards.
- Experience in Mission Critical and/or Semiconductor markets preferred.
- CFPS, EIT, and/or NICET certification preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 15%.
Qualifications
- Associate degree, Engineering Technology degree, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of related fire protection design experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
