SENIOR FIRE ALARM TECHNICIAN

About the Role

Ace Technologies, LLC is a full-service integrator specializing in industrial controls, video surveillance, fire alarm and mass notification, telecom and networking, audio visual, and aerial survey and photography. As a Senior Fire Alarm Technician, you will install, program, and service fire alarm systems, manage installation projects and budgets, lead service and installation crews, and work with customers on integrating related building systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair physical security systems at customer locations efficiently to restore full functionality.
• Perform preventative maintenance as required by service and maintenance contracts.
• Troubleshoot issues remotely using provided software and an internet connection.
• Travel to customer locations throughout Florida and Georgia on a continuous day-to-day basis.
• Work independently to research and resolve equipment issues.
• Perform special projects and other assigned duties.
• Assist with other technical support issues as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a related position/field.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Post-secondary certificate preferred.
• NICET II certification or higher preferred.
• Electrical background and knowledge of electronic equipment.
• Low voltage background, including relays, loops, and inputs/outputs.
• Knowledge of fire alarm systems and test equipment.
• Ability to read schematics and understand relay logic.
• Experience reading blueprints and operational materials.
• Strong communication, organizational, and PC skills (Microsoft Office, Command Prompt, and ability to learn manufacturer-specific software).
• Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude.
• Ability to travel to project locations.
• Edwards Life Safety Equipment knowledge preferred.

Mandatory hiring requirements include references, background check, drug screen testing, and a valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions

• Work in various weather elements (heat, cold, rain, or snow).
• Utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns).
• Must have required personal tools at all times.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, aerial work platforms, catwalks, and other safe work areas at heights up to 90 feet.
• Work in restricted or confined areas such as network closets and crawl spaces.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment.
• Regularly work 40 hours per week plus overtime as required; night shifts, weekends, and out-of-town work may be necessary.

Required Physical/Mental Functions

• Comprehend construction drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Safely use required power tools.
• Practice safe work procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Handbook.
• Operate two-handed tools (e.g., cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools).
• Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, work site directions, and written instructions.
• Hear and see well (naturally or with correction).
• Bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
• Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds.
• Tolerate prolonged standing and movement on foot.
• Climb ladders (all types).
• Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers; complete overhead work for full-day assignments.
