SENIOR FIRE ALARM TECHNICIAN

About the Role

Ace Technologies, LLC is a full-service integrator specializing in industrial controls, video surveillance, fire alarm and mass notification, telecom and networking, audio-visual, and aerial survey and photography. As a Senior Fire Alarm Technician, you will install, program, and service fire alarm systems, serve as the primary contact for system service, manage installation projects and budgets, lead service and installation crews, and collaborate with customers on integrating related building systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair physical security systems at customer locations efficiently to restore full functionality.
• Perform preventative maintenance as required by service and maintenance contracts.
• Troubleshoot issues remotely using provided software and an internet connection.
• Travel to customer locations throughout Florida and Georgia on a continuous day-to-day basis.
• Work independently to research and resolve equipment issues.
• Perform special projects and other assigned duties.
• Assist with technical support issues as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a related position or field.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Post-secondary certificate preferred.
• NICET II certification or higher preferred.
• Electrical background and knowledge of electronic equipment.
• Low voltage background, including relays, loops, and inputs/outputs.
• Knowledge of fire alarm systems and test equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair systems efficiently at customer locations.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• PC skills, including Microsoft Office, Command Prompt, and ability to learn manufacturer-specific software.
• Ability to read schematics and understand relay logic.
• Experience reading blueprints and operational materials.
• Ability to travel to project locations.
• Edwards Life Safety Equipment knowledge preferred.

Working Conditions

• Work in various weather elements (heat, cold, rain, snow) depending on job location and time of year.
• Utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns).
• Must have required personal tools at all times.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, aerial work platforms, catwalks, and other safe work areas at heights up to 90 feet.
• Work in restricted or confined areas such as network closets and crawl spaces.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment.
• Regularly work 40 hours per week plus overtime as required; night shifts, weekends, and out-of-town work may be necessary.

Physical/Mental Functions

• Comprehend construction drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Safely use required power tools.
• Follow safe work procedures outlined in the Company Safety Handbook.
• Operate two-handed tools (e.g., cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools).
• Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, work site directions, and written instructions.
• Hear and see well (naturally or with correction).
• Bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
• Lift objects up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds.
• Tolerate prolonged standing and movement on foot.
• Climb ladders (all types) and perform overhead work for full-day assignments.
• Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
