About the role

The Senior Financial Benefits Consultant provides technical support to client teams by monitoring the cost and performance of clients' benefits plans. This role owns the responsibility of monitoring and communicating the financial performance of employee benefits plans and participates in client presentations. The Senior Financial Benefits Consultant may be assigned to multiple OneDigital offices within the region and may provide financial/analytics support to sales teams.

Responsibilities

  • Train junior staff
  • Participate in sales and key account presentations
  • Calculate renewal projections and premium equivalent rates
  • Calculate actuarial valuations and aid client teams in benefits design
  • Conduct financial analysis of benefits marketings
  • Provide financial performance reports, analysis, and recommendations to clients
  • Provide financial analyses regarding the cost effectiveness of benefit design options
  • Assist in the evaluation of the results of Requests for Proposals for consultants
  • Participate in client presentations regarding the cost effectiveness of benefit strategies
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Draft and review accurate exhibits for quarterly and annual client meetings
  • Assist the Benefits Consultant with carrier negotiation process
  • Draft and review client utilization reports using various carrier reporting methods
  • Analyze data and identify opportunities for plan design and product changes based on observed utilization patterns
  • Draft and review monthly reporting deliverables for clients
  • Draft and review cost projections for benefit plan offerings
  • Analyze industry benchmarks and draft information for clients to show their competitiveness in the industry
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with carrier partners
  • Maintain accurate, current, organized, and complete market information in internal databases
  • Assist team and clients as necessary with special projects

  • Basic applied mathematics

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong mathematics background such as Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance (required)
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (required)
  • 5+ years of experience in finance and accounting (required)
  • Experience in the insurance industry (preferred)
  • Life & Health License (required)
  • CEBS (preferred)

Pay

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
