About the role

The Senior Financial Analyst will manage existing customer account programs, focusing on risk performance and overall profitability. The role involves deep-dive analysis at the program level, ad-hoc analyses, and identifying opportunities to enhance performance or increase volume without negatively impacting profitability. The analyst will also develop and manage delinquency and profitability forecasting models.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze program-level historical P&L performance to identify revenue opportunities and risk factors such as roll rates and delinquent buckets at an early stage.
  • Communicate trends and findings to team members, upper management, and various stakeholders via department meetings with PowerPoint presentations on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Forecast future performance of existing customer programs using Excel-based and/or SAS-based P&L forecast models, assessing variances between forecasted vs. actual results.
  • Optimize strategies to grow the company’s bottom line, including testing various fees, credit line increases, and convenience check amounts.
  • Develop ad-hoc historical reports to assist with financial analysis as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of work experience in Finance, Risk, Analytics, or a similar role in a professional corporate environment.
  • 5+ years of advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, SAS, or SQL.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, work independently, handle ambiguity, meet tight deadlines, and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience analyzing large data sets, developing recommendations, and simplifying for presentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and teammates.
  • Constant desire to learn and grow.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or Mathematics.
  • 5+ years of advanced use of Microsoft Excel VBA.
  • Experience in the Consumer Credit Card industry.
