About the role

The Senior Financial Analyst supports the Health Plan within HealthPartners' expanding Finance Department. Key responsibilities include financial analysis, budgeting, financial reporting, and project support.

Responsibilities

  • Provides financial analysis, budgeting, financial reporting, and project support to operations.
  • Develops financial models and dashboards using benchmarks and productivity measures.
  • Supports the company's financial forecasting, long range planning, and budgeting processes.
  • Presents financial information to a non-financial audience and supports business areas with operating and financial analysis efforts.
  • Supports and enhances processes and procedures to facilitate accurate and timely financial reporting and managerial information.
  • Assists with project management of various financial alignment projects.
  • Performs special projects as required, coordinating complex and confidential information from planning and design stages through implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a business-related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, and/or business-related fields.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to design analytical reports and make informed decisions and recommendations from detailed financial, trend, and operational data.
  • Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of management.
  • Thorough understanding of methods of data and systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in data analytics and financial strategy development.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong Excel and modeling skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with accounting and financial systems, including general ledger.
  • Experience/knowledge of healthcare industry operations is preferred.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in finance, accounting, or business-related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Proficiency in Excel and modeling.
  • Experience with healthcare industry operations is preferred.
