About the role
Amazon.com is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the Global Media and Entertainment Finance Team. The role offers opportunities for impactful analysis, process improvement, and scope expansion.
Responsibilities
- Conduct financial modeling and provide strategic analysis to inform business decisions
- Develop and deliver recommendations based on financial and strategic analyses
- Anticipate business demands of senior-level business managers and influence their decisions
- Think and act quickly under pressure, managing multiple competing priorities
- Apply key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses and identify opportunities for improvement
- Lead, automate, standardize, or simplify finance or business tools and processes
Requirements
- 3+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 4+ years of continuous improvement project experience in scaling and improving controllership
- Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos)
- Experience with financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- 2+ years of applying KPIs to analyses and identifying opportunities for improvement
- 2+ years of leading, automating, standardizing, or simplifying finance or business tools and processes
Qualifications
- Exceptional financial modeling skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and present alternatives logically
- Proven track record of superior financial and strategic analysis
- Ability to think and act quickly under pressure and manage multiple competing priorities
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools
- Knowledge of financial systems and KPIs
- Leadership and project management experience
