About the role

Amazon.com is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the Global Media and Entertainment Finance Team. The role offers opportunities for impactful analysis, process improvement, and scope expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial modeling and provide strategic analysis to inform business decisions
  • Develop and deliver recommendations based on financial and strategic analyses
  • Anticipate business demands of senior-level business managers and influence their decisions
  • Think and act quickly under pressure, managing multiple competing priorities
  • Apply key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Lead, automate, standardize, or simplify finance or business tools and processes

Requirements

  • 3+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
  • 4+ years of continuous improvement project experience in scaling and improving controllership
  • Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos)
  • Experience with financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • 2+ years of applying KPIs to analyses and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • 2+ years of leading, automating, standardizing, or simplifying finance or business tools and processes

  • Exceptional financial modeling skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and present alternatives logically
  • Proven track record of superior financial and strategic analysis
  • Ability to think and act quickly under pressure and manage multiple competing priorities

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools
  • Knowledge of financial systems and KPIs
  • Leadership and project management experience
