Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A
About the role
Important: This role is based at our Westlake Village, CA corporate offices on a hybrid schedule (2–3 days per week onsite).
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain forward-looking financial models to support technology investments, resource planning, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Translate complex financial and operational data into actionable insights that inform strategic and tactical decision-making.
- Partner with IT and Finance leadership to improve forecast accuracy and implement scalable, best-in-class reporting processes.
- Lead financial analysis of technology-related spend (labor, systems, and vendor services) to ensure strong alignment between business objectives and financial plans.
- Support the development of new tools and automation that improve visibility into cost drivers and performance metrics.
- Drive annual planning, budgeting, and monthly forecasting cycles, promoting consistency and process efficiency.
- Contribute to month-end close activities, including variance analysis, journal entries, and data validation, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders on special projects that enhance financial visibility and organizational agility.
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor on new initiatives, vendor contracts, and capital projects.
What We’re Looking For
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, accounting, or equivalent work experience. Minimum 4 years of FP&A experience, preferably within retail, technology, or e-commerce-driven organizations.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel (including complex formulas, functions, and efficiency shortcuts). Skilled in financial systems such as Oracle EPM and PeopleSoft. Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience in financial modeling, forecasting, planning, and variance analysis.
- Core Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail. Working knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts for non-financial audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting IT finance or working within a retail, e-commerce, or technology organization.
- Familiarity with CapEx/OpEx spend management and contract-level financial oversight.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Query or similar analytical tools.
- Prior experience with Oracle EPM, PeopleSoft, or comparable financial platforms.
Pay
$90,000 - $110,000/yr. dependent on background and experience. This position is not eligible to participate in the Guitar Center Company bonus program based on the Company's performance.
