About the Role

BJC HealthCare is in search of a Senior Financial Analyst to support the planning, management, and oversight of capital investments across the organization. This role is responsible for facilitating the full lifecycle of capital assets, including equipment, facilities, land, and other strategic investments, while ensuring accurate budgeting, project setup, financial reporting, and capital expenditure tracking. The Senior Financial Analyst will work closely with operational and executive leaders to manage capital planning processes, prepare executive-level presentations, facilitate capital review meetings, and provide financial insights that support informed decision-making.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, process-driven professional with strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, solid accounting and financial acumen, and the ability to effectively navigate financial systems while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides analysis of financial data, including clinical service line reporting, trend analysis, proformas, and forecasts, and the monitoring of key financial metrics.
  • Provides variance analysis of budget vs. actual results for assigned areas, explaining the causes of any material variances.
  • Supports the development and analysis of operating and capital budgets, as assigned.
  • Conducts research and provides analysis for external business intelligence, as assigned.
  • Maintains and supports decision support databases, including updating cost allocations.
  • Manages financial support of Integrated Service Lines and Medical Cost Management Initiatives for the System.
  • Provides financial support to Strategic Planning and all their initiatives.
  • Prepares and presents analytical and statistical analyses, summaries, and profiles for senior management and the BJC Board.
  • Develops comparative reporting of System affiliates and institutions as well as System information to other databases.
  • Evaluates and coordinates the installation of Finance programs and systems in Finance departments throughout the system.
  • Develops long-range plans, consolidates quarterly projections, and conducts feasibility studies for new affiliates or other acquisitions and mergers.
  • Supports proposal development, contract negotiation, and execution.
  • Provides financial support to Performance Improvement Process projects.
  • Manages System Decision Support (HBO).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience (5-10 years preferred).
  • Supervisor experience is not required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • CPA certification.
