About the role
The Senior Financial Analyst will support the Leadership's decision-making process to deliver the EV, Innovation/Growth Strategy of General Motors through the best allocation of capital resources. The role involves maintaining capital forecasts across a diverse portfolio of programs/projects, working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, GPSC, and Program Finance Team, and supporting internal/external capital targets.
Responsibilities
- Maintain capital forecasts for responsible projects/programs including full-size trucks/SUVs, crossovers, battery electric vehicles/trucks, autonomous vehicles, performance vehicles, propulsion/powertrain, corporate common components, lifecycle improvement initiatives, tooling refurbishment, and accessories.
- Develop value-add monthly reporting focusing on operational actions impacting the capital forecast.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, GPSC, and Program Finance Team to ensure forecast accuracy and understanding of risks and opportunities.
- Support strategic initiatives such as capital timing studies or benchmarking, and participate in collaborative environments focused on continuous improvement and career development.
- Collaborate with Planning, Capital Strategy team, and Portfolio Planning Finance to optimize capital efficiency.
- Resolve complex problems and develop financial analysis methods to streamline decision-making.
- Work with a sense of urgency and prioritize projects, and work independently with minimal guidance/supervision.
- Relate project goals to business objectives and results, integrating with business purposes.
- Participate in a collaborative/inclusive environment with capital management peers focused on continuous improvement and career development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
- 5+ years of financial or related experience.
- Knowledge of corporate finance principles including balance sheet analysis, income statement analysis, cash flow statement analysis, etc.
- Experience with common financial tools: ROI, NPV.
- Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills.
- Strong modeling and financial valuation skills.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- 7+ years of financial experience.
- Ability to coordinate and manage tasks within a broader project.
- Work with a sense of urgency and prioritize projects.
- Organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal guidance/supervision.
