About the role
The Senior Financial Analyst will provide cross-functional support across multiple teams and initiatives, developing key financial models and insights required by senior leadership to inform long-term strategic investment decisions regarding Services capacity planning and capex.
Responsibilities
- Provide cross-functional support across multiple teams and initiatives, developing key financial models and insights required by senior leadership to inform long-term strategic investment decisions regarding Services capacity planning and capex.
- Help drive better visibility and insight into the success and efficiency of all Service businesses.
- Own the AWS Services capex month-end process, working with teams to reduce complexity and drive systemic automation and creating new tools and mechanisms that lead to more informed decision making from Services.
- Work collaboratively with various finance, business and tech partners, be comfortable in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous, results-oriented environment, influence the decisions of business and financial leadership through verbal and written communication, and have high standards for accuracy, logical reasoning skills, and strategic thinking.
Requirements
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
- 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
- 3+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience, Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience, Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence, 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience, 3+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
- Preferred Qualifications: 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience, MBA, or CPA, Knowledge of Tableau, Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards), 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience, 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience, 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
