About the Role
Analyze financial trends affecting debt and cash management activities. Performs complex analysis using automated financial models with multiple variables in order to project and track costs, monitor major contracts and manage various databases for debt, budget, and/or cash management programs. May supervise staff and/or act in a lead capacity as project manager over various projects. Additional responsibilities include reconciling general and subsidiary ledgers of municipal utilities, and the preparation of financial and statistical reports. Must have a working knowledge of governmental accounting practices and procedures to ensure conformity to generally accepted accounting principles as outlined in GAAFR and federal, state and local income tax ordinances and laws. The incumbent is expected to stay abreast of new technology and changes in the industry.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a closely related field
- 5 years of experience in accounting, auditing, collections, investments or other finance related work
- One year of supervisory experience in accounting, auditing, collections, investments or other finance related work may substitute for 1 year of the above required experience
- An MBA, MPA or CPA may substitute for 1 year of the above listed experience
- A CPA is preferred for incumbents assigned to the Financial Analysis section of Tax and Accounting Division
- Degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U. S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities or equivalent region
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license at time of appointment and maintained as a condition of employment
