Senior Financial Analyst, Amazon Inbound Finance
About the role
Amazon Freight Finance is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join its Transportation Finance team. This role offers the opportunity to create and innovate on behalf of customers and build the transportation experience of the future. It will have significant impact on the business and require strong partnership with Operations, Pricing, Product, Sales, and other teams within Amazon Freight and across transportation teams.
The role involves deep diving into business input drivers, analyzing complex data sets, and using insights to influence business decisions. It is ideal for a candidate with exceptional financial modeling skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities. The successful candidate will exhibit excellent attention to detail, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly evolving environment.
A typical day includes improving and creating new measures for business effectiveness, innovating creative solutions using large-scale data mining tools, and identifying high-priority projects to maximize results for key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Own and perform OPEX planning for Truck Load, Less-Than Truck Load, and Inter-modal businesses by building input-based drivers that demonstrate required productivity year over year.
- Partner with Operations, Pricing, Product, Sales, and other teams to define gearing ratios, including tech entitlements and programmatic solutions to reduce cost-to-serve.
- Own and perform end-to-end CAPEX planning for Truck Load, Less-Than Truck Load, and Inter-modal businesses by building ROI, FCF, PBP, and IRR models and supporting the CAR approval process. This includes integrating processes with the Central CAPEX Planning team and developing working models for reviews with senior leaders.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on cost allocation for OPEX and CAPEX and its methodology to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities to resolve defects proactively and improve, scale, or simplify finance tools across teams and organizations.
- Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams and partner finance teams to ensure seamless integration of the Amazon Freight plan into the overall Worldwide plan.
- With Controllership as the top priority, identify, resolve, or provide guidance to resolve data integrity issues, improve controls to address financial risk, and support frugality.
- Use active listening skills to communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner.

Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
- Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience participating in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
- MBA or CPA.
Pay
- USA, TX, Irving: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually.
- USA, VA, Arlington: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually.
- USA, WA, Bellevue: $82,700.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually.
Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
