Amazon Freight Finance is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join its Transportation Finance team. This role offers the opportunity to create and innovate on behalf of customers and build the transportation experience of the future.

About the role

This role will have significant impact on the business and requires strong partnership with Operations, Pricing, Product, Sales, and other teams within Amazon Freight and across transportation teams. The ideal candidate will deep dive into business input drivers, analyze complex data, and use insights to influence business decisions. The role is suited for someone with exceptional financial modeling skills, strong verbal and written communication, excellent attention to detail, and comfort with ambiguity.

A typical day involves improving and creating new measures for business effectiveness, innovating solutions using large-scale data mining tools, and identifying high-priority projects to maximize results for key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Own and perform OPEX planning for Truck Load, Less-Than Truck Load, and Inter-modal businesses by building input-based drivers that demonstrate required productivity year over year.
  • Partner with Operations, Pricing, Product, Sales, and other teams to define gearing ratios, including tech entitlements and programmatic solutions to reduce cost-to-serve.
  • Own and perform end-to-end CAPEX planning for Truck Load, Less-Than Truck Load, and Inter-modal businesses by building ROI, FCF, PBP, and IRR models and supporting the CAR approval process. This includes integrating processes with the Central CAPEX Planning team and developing review models with senior leaders.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on cost allocation for OPEX and CAPEX and its methodology to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to resolve defects proactively and improve, scale, or simplify finance tools across teams and organizations.
  • Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams and partner finance teams to ensure seamless integration of the Amazon Freight plan into the overall Worldwide plan.
  • Prioritize controllership by identifying, resolving, or providing guidance on data integrity issues, improving controls to address financial risk, and supporting frugality.
  • Use active listening skills to communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner.
  • Review performance data for Operations Cost (headcount, bad debts, marketing) and CAPEX Cost to identify trends that help leadership understand the financial health of operations.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives through financial analyses, stakeholder meetings, and identifying opportunities to reduce cost-to-serve while maintaining operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience participating in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
  • MBA or CPA.

Pay

  • USA, TX, Irving: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, VA, Arlington: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, WA, Bellevue: $82,700.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
