Senior Financial Analyst, Amazon Advertising

Key job responsibilities

  • Support OP1/OP2 planning cycles including narrative development and financial modeling
  • Build and maintain inference cost forecasting models for compute infrastructure, partnering with engineering to identify optimization opportunities
  • Manage financial controllership including variance analysis and month-end close activities
  • Assist in the development of tools to better understand changes in traffic patterns
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on ad-hoc strategic analyses, including AI adoption reviews, productivity assessments, and investment business cases
  • Uphold and enforce an environment of ethical practices and strong financial controllership

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree or above in finance, accounting or related field
  • Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving, or experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • Master's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business, or a related field
  • Experience in hands-on infrastructure, troubleshooting, systems administration, networking, DevOps or applications development
  • Knowledge of BI analytics, reporting or visualization tools like Tableau, AWS QuickSight, Cognos or other third-party tools
  • Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.

About the role

This is a high visibility role, working across multiple teams in Amazon. Additional responsibilities include weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting of financial performance and ad-hoc business analysis support. This role requires a self-starter and independent individual with strong financial modeling abilities, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations.
