About the role
The Senior Finance & Sales Commission Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely commission calculations, while also providing insightful financial analysis and reporting. This role requires a deep understanding of sales commission administration, financial reporting, and data integrity.
Responsibilities
- Own weekly reporting (pipeline and other key metrics), translating raw data into a clear, actionable view of business performance relative to plan
- Prepare monthly reporting packages with client- and deal-level variance analysis that surfaces not just what changed, but why and what it means for the forecast
- Contribute to annual budget preparation and weekly forecast submissions with accurate, well-documented, and audit-ready inputs
- Execute ad hoc financial analysis and special projects with the same rigor and attention to detail applied to recurring deliverables
- Administer monthly and quarterly sales incentive and commission calculations with a high degree of precision and accountability
- Serve as the primary escalation point for compensation disputes, discrepancies, and plan interpretation questions in partnership with Enterprise People Services Business Partner
- Prepare monthly commission accruals and ensure timely, accurate payouts across all sales compensation plans
- Partner with Sales leadership and People Services/Total Rewards to support annual compensation plan design through data-driven modeling, scenario analysis, and cost impact assessment
- Identify, investigate, and resolve data issues originating in Salesforce that affect downstream compensation calculations and financial reporting
- Build and maintain documentation that maps source data flows from Salesforce through DOMO to compensation outputs, creating transparency and audit readiness
- Proactively distinguish between reporting errors and source data errors, communicating findings and recommended actions to the appropriate stakeholders
- Serve as a trusted partner to People Services/Total Rewards, Payroll, Revenue Operations, Accounting, and Sales leadership — bridging the gap between financial data and business decisions
- Educate and advise stakeholders on how to interpret compensation and financial reporting, and establish clear escalation paths for data and plan-related issues
- Collaborate with senior leaders to support strategic business decisions with timely, accurate financial analysis
- Continuously identify and drive improvements in compensation processes, financial systems, and reporting capabilities — moving the team from reactive to proactive
