Senior Finance Manager, Government
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to join our government team in Carlsbad, CA, Tempe, AZ, or Reston, VA. This is a hybrid, site-based role requiring at least 3 days (60%) per week in the office within a standard five-day workweek, with the remaining days worked remotely.
As a Sr. Finance Manager within our Government Segment, you will provide financial management for a business area generating over $250M/year in revenue. You will manage programs and product development efforts, develop financial tools, support monthly rolling forecasts, and drive operational modernization to improve team skills and organizational capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Act as business and finance manager to a technical management team while participating in a larger finance organization.
- Build and maintain financial reporting packages on a monthly/quarterly basis for senior leadership.
- Proactively partner with key stakeholders to deliver insightful financial and business analysis, highlighting business issues and driving financial discipline.
- Provide accurate, informative, and well-formatted financial information for decision-making.
- Develop complex business case analyses (products and services) to ensure optimal return on invested capital and responsible cash management.
- Continuously identify, mitigate, and manage business risk.
- Expand skillsets and take on additional responsibilities as the organization grows, using process improvement and automation.
- Lead a team of financial analysts.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Finance Experience with a mix of Program Finance, P&L Finance, and FP&A.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related area.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to summarize large data sets via formulas, tables, and graphs.
- Experience with full profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash management.
- Experience building complex financial models, including multiple direct/indirect rates, multiple elements of cost, and time-phased actuals/forecasts.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and programs for both products and services.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to drive performance and be a change leader.
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting.
Skills
- Experience with Hyperion and Oracle is highly preferred.
- Natural curiosity and desire to explore AI-enabled operational efficiencies.
- Desire to grow skills in managing complex tools.
- Experience and/or passion for process modernization.
- Staff oversight, leadership, and management experience desired.
- Knowledge of CAS, FAR, and government contracting.
Pay
Salary range: $133,000.00 – $210,000.00 annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area, and the New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is $165,000.00 – $248,000.00 annually.
Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package.
