Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner for Koch-Glitsch, based in Wichita, Kansas. This role leads the business finance team and partners across sales, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, planning, strategy, and market analysis to advance the business vision and prepare for broader finance leadership or business leadership opportunities.

About the role

As a core member of the global leadership team, you will work directly with the business leader as a thought partner and strategic advisor, bringing economic and financial perspectives to improve decision-making and maximize value creation for customers, suppliers, shareholders, and other stakeholders. You will apply Principle Based Management (PBM) and influence its adoption across the business while advancing AI-enabled ways of working to create greater value.

This role is also part of the KES Finance and Accounting leadership team, responsible for advancing talent development and strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Build strategic partnerships across the organization to align priorities, improve decision-making, drive action, and hold others accountable for outcomes.
  • Lead a high-performing business finance team that supports Koch-Glitsch and partners with the broader finance and accounting organization to provide financial domain expertise.
  • Apply insights from other industries and business models to assess current performance, shape vision and strategy, and originate new ideas.
  • Articulate business objectives, insights, and market drivers effectively.
  • Drive the application of PBM frameworks, economic tools (marginal analysis, DMF, opportunity cost, risk optimization), and key financial metrics (EVA, NPV, ROCC, NIAT) to improve decision-making and results.
  • Develop practical economic models and redesign decision-support processes with AI integration to improve day-to-day decision-making and compress cycle time.
  • Promote an integrated business team approach by connecting leaders to key performance drivers and levers for future improvement.
  • Provide economic and financial leadership to increase the speed and quality of decisions, inform strategy, and drive prioritization and execution.
  • Apply AI fluently in daily work—drafting, synthesis, modeling, variance analysis, and executive communication—while creating new AI-enabled ways of working with cross-functional partners.
  • Model and accelerate AI adoption on the leadership team by sharing wins, protecting experimentation time, surfacing friction points, and partnering with Finance & Accounting, IT, and business leaders to strengthen data foundations and governance.

Requirements

  • Experience in business analysis, finance, accounting, commercial development, business strategy, sales, procurement, planning, engineering, manufacturing, or other business roles focused on improving financial performance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and partnering with senior leaders to communicate strategy, articulate economic value, and seek investment authority.
  • Experience analyzing and communicating financial performance (monthly, quarterly, annual results), near-term forecasts, long-range strategic plans (3–5 years), and key financial improvement initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex analysis and present insights effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to apply AI in high-impact ways, including prompt structuring, output verification, and hallucination detection in finance.

Qualifications

The following qualifications will put you ahead:

  • Experience in business capabilities outside of Finance & Accounting.
  • Three-statement financial modeling experience.
  • Industry experience in discrete manufacturing, custom engineering, and/or long-lead-time engineered-to-order industrial equipment.
  • Experience leading AI-enabled process redesign or building AI-assisted decision tools for forecasting, variance analysis, quoting, or reporting in a business-partnering context.
  • Experience driving change management and data governance readiness to scale AI adoption across a finance organization.
