Senior Final Assembly Inspector (Friday-Sunday)

Role Overview The Senior Final Assembly Inspector is comfortable making decisions based on facts, procedures, and risk assessment. The function is to perform various inspection duties such as (but not limited to) in process turbojet engine assy steps, torque verification, depth measurements, compliance to defined specifications, and final assembly “white glove” inspections denoting meticulous care. Will create, collect, and record inspection data, work closely with Engineering and Operations to resolve issues, and maintain document control in accordance with AS9100, AS9102, ITAR, and internal/customer requirements. This position follows a three-day workweek with three, 12-hour shifts, Friday-Sunday, and will pay a shift differential. What You'll Do.... Perform physical and visual electrical and mechanical inspections using measurement and test equipment that includes, but is not limited to torque wrenches, pin gages, calipers, micrometers, bore gages, and height gagePerform final inspection of all engines post build/test activities and prior to shipmentMeasure components and compare results to Engineering drawings and defined MES requirements that contain GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and industry standard specification controlsCreate, develop, and implement inspection processes based on the needs of the engine and customer specificationCollaborate with Quality, Design Eng, & Manufacturing Eng to resolve any issues found during product realizationAssist with creating and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) such as calibration records, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking, and document controlCreate inspection documentation and collect and verify all data for customer data packet or CoC packetIdentify and record non-conformances when found using various softwareAssist with root cause analysis and corrective actionsReview and provide input into MES work instructions as they are translated from ENG drawing to shop floor processesCommunicates clearly and respectfully, even during production challenges You have... Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience working in a quality positionExperience working in an AS9100 (or similar standard) manufacturing and inspection environmentExperience in sub and final assembly inspection methods and tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)Experience in creating quality documentation, such as non-conformances and CoCsExperience in developing and implementing quality procedures and work instructionsAttention to detailProficient with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) read, write and interpretDrawing interpretation background.performing inter-company and external presentationsProficient in Word, PowerPoint and ExcelCollaborates effectively with production teams to correct issues quickly and keep operations moving whenever it can be done safely and within quality standardsRemains calm and objective in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
