About the role
The Senior Field Technician provides skilled, proactive maintenance and repair support across multiple Fairfield Residential communities within the Houston, TX market. This role specifically works a second shift schedule from 11:00am to 8:00pm to assist with after hours emergency calls or work orders.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, appliance repairs, and HVAC repairs and maintenance.
- Conduct regular property inspections to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
- Complete assigned service requests, prioritizing based on urgency and community needs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and inventory tracking.
- Prepare units promptly and effectively for new residents.
- Adhere strictly to safety standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- HVAC certification required (Type II or EPA Universal).
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- 3-5+ years multifamily or residential maintenance experience.
- Experience with disaster preparedness and response.
- Proficient in apartment maintenance with hands-on experience in troubleshooting various systems.
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliances.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- General computer skills including operating a mobile device.
- Superior customer service skills including the ability to manage difficult customers and/or situations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible schedule to include weekends and on-call hours to address emergency services.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Qualifications
- Education and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
