About the role

The Senior Field Technician provides skilled, proactive maintenance and repair support across multiple Fairfield Residential communities within the Houston, TX market. This role specifically works a second shift schedule from 11:00am to 8:00pm to assist with after hours emergency calls or work orders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, appliance repairs, and HVAC repairs and maintenance.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
  • Complete assigned service requests, prioritizing based on urgency and community needs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and inventory tracking.
  • Prepare units promptly and effectively for new residents.
  • Adhere strictly to safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • HVAC certification required (Type II or EPA Universal).
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • 3-5+ years multifamily or residential maintenance experience.
  • Experience with disaster preparedness and response.
  • Proficient in apartment maintenance with hands-on experience in troubleshooting various systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and repair skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliances.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • General computer skills including operating a mobile device.
  • Superior customer service skills including the ability to manage difficult customers and/or situations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible schedule to include weekends and on-call hours to address emergency services.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Qualifications

  • Education and Certifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
