Senior Field Technical Director

About the role
This is an architect-level role focused on ensuring the best design and integration of Cohesity technology for large, enterprise customers and those with demanding use cases. The mission of this role is to:
- Explore and understand the customer's technical requirements by deeply assessing business and technical needs across workloads, infrastructure, and operations.
- Architect and design scalable, resilient solutions that leverage Cohesity’s capabilities to their fullest potential.
- Ensure solutions are successfully implemented, drive adoption, and position the account for long-term success and expansion.
This position requires expertise in the core Cohesity product capabilities, data center design, data protection, cyber-security, and solutions at web scale.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the strategic technical leader for assigned accounts, influencing both technical strategy and business outcomes.
- Present Cohesity technology (deep dive) to customer executives and technical leaders, explaining its application in various use-cases and scenarios.
- Conduct discovery workshops to identify business objectives, document use cases, requirements, and operational constraints.
- Develop high-level architectural alternatives, review with customers, and deliver written design plans to meet customer needs at scale, including special project phases (e.g., migration, operational cut-over).
- Help plan and conduct technical demos and Proof of Concepts (POCs) with the account SE.
- Provide technical information for RFPs/RFIs and review all account team proposals.
- Liaison with Product Management and Engineering to represent customer/field requirements and resolve specific issues.
- Lead cross-functional “tiger teams” to address strategic customer challenges and opportunities.
- Mentor SEs and other technical team members to raise the bar for technical excellence in your region.
- Act as the technical point of escalation for all architectural and design decisions.
- Drive results leading product-focused cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in IT.
- Expertise in Storage, Backup, Virtualization, and Linux CLI.
- Experience in Cyber-security and Cyber Resilience.

- Expected travel: Up to 60%.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision-making.
- English language proficiency (ability to interact with fluency in professional and specialized settings).

Pay
Starting pay range: $220,800.00 - $276,000.00 annually. Actual salary depends on skills, qualifications, experience, location, and salary expectations. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants.
Schedule
In-office expectations: Employees within a reasonable commute (e.g., within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
