Senior Field Surveyor

About the role

Perform field work in various surveying disciplines using GPS, robotic, and other technologies. This role provides survey support for projects managed out of our Ashburn, VA and Columbia, MD offices.

Responsibilities

• Residential building stakeout
• Residential as-builts (wall checks/location surveys)
• Topographic surveys
• Residential infrastructure stakeout (water, sewer, storm C&G)
• Site as-builts
• Basic computations/cutsheets
• Boundary surveys
• ALTA surveys
• Heavy construction stakeout
• Mentor and train field surveyors

Requirements

• Ability to stay up to date with ever-changing survey technology
• Comfortable working alone in isolated and remote areas
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to excel in a physical and technically demanding position
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings
• Basic understanding of survey-specific codes and regulations
• Basic understanding of heavy construction (high-rise, commercial construction)

Qualifications

• 20+ years of related experience
• AutoCAD experience a plus
• High school education or equivalent
• Additional survey-specific classes a plus
• Clean driving record

Schedule

Work in office 3 days per week. Additional in-office days may vary per division/department.

Pay

$33.00–$43.00 per hour plus use of a company vehicle.
