Field Engineer / Surveyor

Your best fit for this position

• Proficient knowledge in AutoCAD and total stations survey equipment and software
• Obtain OSHA 30 certification and CPR/First Aid
• Experienced at problem solving and being an effective communicator
• Strong knowledge of concrete construction principles/practices
• Experienced with using advanced instruments and capable of using Total Station to perform layouts

Daily challenges and goals

• Sets up and maintains permanent control throughout the entire project
• Validates accurate dimensions by reviewing the architectural and structural drawings prior to execution
• Lays out footings, column lines (using batter-boards when feasible), re-bar placement, wall lines, embeds, anchor bolts, and more on site and stores data points for layout accountability. Provides verification of layout points as necessary
• Schedules calibration and maintenance of equipment when its due and makes sure WSI’s teams operate with well-maintained and accurate layout equipment

Responsibilities

• Performs daily construction staking and work layout tasks for all phases of concrete construction structures
• Performs calculations from plans for laying out foundations, columns, slabs, elevator pits, walls, etc.
• Performs as-built surveys for quality control and documentation purposes
