Senior Field Service Technician

Role Overview: This Senior Field Service Technician performs hands-on installation, startup, testing, and commissioning of low- and medium-voltage switchgear and automatic transfer switches at customer sites. Key Responsibilities: Lead system start-up, testing, and commissioning to ensure proper operation; diagnose and resolve issues with electrical and control equipment; execute maintenance programs; support complex upgrades and modernization projects; collaborate with teams and maintain customer relationships; document work accurately; assist with technical troubleshooting and training; ensure safety, quality, and compliance standards are met. Qualifications & Skills: 10+ years experience in power distribution and control equipment maintenance; proficiency in installing, testing, and repairing electrical systems; knowledge of safety and electrical codes (CSA, NFPA, UL); ability to interpret electrical schematics; strong customer service skills; proficiency with PC tools and mobile applications; willingness to travel extensively. Preferred Certifications & Skills: NETA or NICET certification, OSHA 30-Hour, NFPA 70E training; experience with generator paralleling switchgear; advanced knowledge of industrial control systems, relays, PLCs, and HMIs.
