Senior Field Engineer - Low Voltage Cabling

Responsibilities

  • Oversee submitting changes to SoW and completing redlines for closeout.
  • Update fiber scope based on IES customer designs.
  • Ensure copper installations comply with prints and submit redlines as needed.
  • Configure network settings if necessary.
  • Reference and implement RFI’s, ensuring they are reviewed and accepted/rejected.
  • Manage design aspects, including shop drawings and BIM360 submissions.
  • Collect warranty information towards the end of the build.
  • Complete product submittals and print labels for installation teams.

Lessons Learned

Between all engineers and QA, this document should be actively updated throughout the build. At the end of each project, teams will finalize/review the standardized lessons learned template for submission. The information will come from the lessons learned tracker.

Warranties

The Field Engineer will handle warranty processing and completion.

Product Submittals

The Field Engineer will complete product submittals, typically using a template with necessary additions and verifications.

Test Audits

  • Run and verify tests after project completion.
  • Create and share test packages with the team.
  • Conform testing audit packages once all areas are audited.

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated, positive, professional, and able to lead others.
  • Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • High skill level in interpreting blueprints and project documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in commercial low-voltage/structured cabling.

Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 3-4 years of commercial low-voltage/structured cabling experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Meets Company driving standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and manage projects.
