About the role
MWH is currently seeking a qualified Field Engineer to support Civil/Structural/Earthworks components on a significant wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) project in Austin, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Engineer and Superintendent with daily project coordination and field operations.
- Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to understand project scope and requirements.
- Support preparation and tracking of RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
- Coverage with subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams to ensure work aligns with the project schedule and scope.
- Aid in quantity tracking, cost monitoring, and progress reporting.
- Participate in project meetings including subcontractor coordination and planning meetings.
- Maintain accurate project records including drawings, specifications, permits, and field reports.
- Conduct field walks to observe work progress, safety and verify work is being installed conforming to project plans and quality standards.
- Aid in procurement coordination and tracking of materials and equipment deliveries.
- Support project scheduling efforts and track project milestones.
- Collaborate with safety teams to ensure work is completed in accordance with project safety standards and company policies.
- Support Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) coordination efforts to enhance project planning and execution.
- Assist with development and review of 3D models using Revit and CAD platforms.
- Participate in model coordination to identify potential design conflicts or constructability issues.
- Work with project teams to integrate digital models into field planning and construction sequencing.
- Utilize digital drawings and modeling tools to support layout, coordination, and visualization of project components.
- Help maintain model updates and documentation as design revisions occur.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent construction experience.
- Internship or previous experience in construction project management, field engineering, or VDC support preferred.
- Basic understanding of construction methods, project scheduling, and contract documentation.
- Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, or other CAD-based modeling software.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with field teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work in field environments, including outdoor construction sites.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
