Senior Field Applications Specialist West (Chem/IA)

The Senior Field Applications Specialist (FAS) is responsible for validating new Chemistry (Chem) and/or Immunoassay (IA) instrument installations to ensure they meet Beckman Coulter and customer requirements. You will work directly with customer Key Operators during validation to reinforce training and ensure staff is prepared to use and maintain instrumentation. This role involves addressing customer questions about instrument operation and assay performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Tech Support, Field Service, Sales, and Customer Training.
This is a remote-based position located in Sacramento, CA; Las Vegas, NV; Portland, OR; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA, with at least 80% travel across the Northwest U.S. Travel may extend nationwide based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare customers for and complete validation studies on instrumentation, including instrument set-up, calibration, precision studies, and method comparisons.
- Provide onsite and remote phone support for assay and quality control (QC) related questions.
- Deliver onsite training for proper operation of instrumentation.
- Reinforce customer training to ensure staff is proficient in using and maintaining instrumentation.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree with 3+ years of experience in laboratory/diagnostic instrumentation or a related field (e.g., Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science).
- Advanced understanding of the diagnostics or healthcare industry, with a focus on laboratory regulatory environments (e.g., Standard Laboratory Practices, Quality Control, record keeping, CAP & CLIA requirements).
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to problem-solve independently.
- Up to 80% travel, including overnight stays; must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist-related field.
- Previous experience with Beckman Coulter Diagnostics systems.

Pay
The hourly range for this role is $40.00 - $43.00, with eligibility for bonus/incentive pay.
