Senior Field Applications Specialist
About the role
Support validation and installation of diagnostic instrumentation at customer sites, including hospitals, clinical laboratories, and physician offices. Perform instrument setup, calibration, precision studies, method comparisons, and validation studies. Troubleshoot instrument, assay, and QC-related issues remotely and onsite. Lead onsite customer training on instrument operation, maintenance, assay performance, and QC procedures. Work with Key Operators during validation to reinforce training and ensure readiness for routine instrument use. Partner with Technical Support, Field Service, Sales, and Customer Training teams to resolve customer and instrumentation issues. Follow laboratory regulatory requirements and published instrument/assay specifications. Travel domestically at least 80% of the time; installations typically require 1–5 days onsite, with occasional longer assignments.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related field
- Minimum 3+ years of combined laboratory, diagnostic instrumentation, or related experience
Required Skills
- 3+ years of laboratory or diagnostic instrumentation experience
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic laboratory instruments and/or immunoassay (IA) or chemistry platforms
- Instrument validation, calibration, precision testing, and method comparison experience
- Assay and quality control (QC) troubleshooting
- Knowledge of clinical laboratory regulatory requirements and practices
- Willingness to travel domestically 80%+ and work onsite at customer laboratories
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record

- 5+ years of Field Applications, Applications Specialist, or diagnostic instrumentation experience

- Experience with CAP/CLIA laboratory requirements
