Role Summary
As a Field Application Scientist (FAS), you will provide essential technical expertise and training to customers, ensuring successful adoption and integration of Quanterix platforms into their research workflows. You will act as a bridge between innovative technology and the scientific community, offering technical guidance, troubleshooting, and staying abreast of the latest advancements. This role involves both pre-sales and post-sales support, extensive travel, and collaboration with internal teams to improve products and customer experience.
What You’ll Do
- Pre-Sales Support:
- Collaborate with regional sales teams to visit existing and prospective customers
- Deliver compelling presentations and webinars tailored to diverse audiences and disease areas
- Demonstrate instrument and software capabilities
- Participate in industry trade shows and seminars
- Provide technical information necessary to close sales
- Post-Sales Support:
- Deliver basic and advanced training to users
- Respond to technical inquiries and troubleshoot assay development challenges
- Maintain regular communication with customers to share new publications, protocols, and tools
- Promote consumables and assay kits to existing customers
- Continuous Development:
- Expand knowledge of Quanterix technologies and applications
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to team knowledge base
- Provide customer feedback to internal teams to guide product strategy and improvements
- Adhere to Quanterix processes for tracking activities and documenting interactions
Basic Qualifications
- Ph.D. in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or life sciences OR Master’s degree with 5+ years of customer-facing experience in applications, technical sales support, or industry research (Pharma, Biotech, CRO)
- Fluency in English
- Proficiency in general biochemistry/molecular biology laboratory work
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience adapting new technologies to research needs
- Customer-facing experience in applications or technical sales support
- Familiarity with immunoassay technologies, ELISA development, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and optical microscopy
- Strong understanding of biomarker assay landscape
