Responsibilities
- Mentorship & Support: Serve as a go-to resource for FBO Accountants by answering questions, offering training on systems and processes, and supporting resolution of day-to-day challenges.
- Assist in onboarding new FBO Accountants by providing training and process walkthroughs.
- Help ensure consistency in accounting practices across all locations.
- Fuel Management: Update websites for weekly pricing and send notifications to customers. Assist in resolving fuel pricing discrepancies, including adjustments, reversals, and audits. Coordinate communication with Customer Service Managers and customers to ensure timely issue resolution of issues.
- Revenue Transactions: Support reconciliation and closing of credit card batches. Monitor open fuel invoices and assist in collection follow-up. Manage monthly recurring billing to tenants and ensure accuracy. Apply incoming payments to accounts receivable and ensure timely deposit of checks. Assist with billing and collection of commercial airline fees. Record intercompany cash transactions and oversee cash application processes.
- Financial Reporting and Budgeting: Assist corporate accounting with timely financial reporting and budgeting responsibilities. Prepare or review monthly financial reporting packages for relevant users (i.e., airport authorities and internal financial reporting). Support reconciliation of bank and balance sheet accounts, review accounts receivable/payable aging for reasonableness and updates, investigate and clear suspense accounts, report changes and reporting challenges to corporate accounting, etc.
- Expenses: Input vendor invoices and monitor payment status. Submit employee expense reports and intercompany invoices as needed. Oversee petty cash usage and reporting.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Deep understanding of accounting controls, compliance, and internal procedures.
- High degree of reliability, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and assist others in high-pressure situations.
- Commitment to accuracy and detail-oriented problem solving.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required).
- Minimum 3-4 years of accounting experience, including prior experience at an FBO or aviation-related operation preferred.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring or training others in an accounting setting is highly desirable.
