About the role

The Facilities Regional Superintendent maintains and repairs equipment, buildings, and physical grounds across all Goodwill Legacy Group facilities, combining self-performed work with vendor coordination. This role serves as the Facilities relationship manager and lead point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, and provides on-site leadership for new site or renovation projects. The Superintendent ensures work is performed efficiently with high standards of quality, safety, and customer relations.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to off-site Goodwill locations (retail stores, warehouses, manufacturing, corporate campuses, Excel Centers) to maintain and repair physical locations and properties consistent with Goodwill initiatives and branding strategy.
  • Serve as the relationship manager and lead point of contact for resolving facility-related issues at all assigned Goodwill sites.
  • Provide onsite leadership and coordination for new site or large renovation projects with general contractors, subcontractors, Goodwill staff, landlords, and others to guide and oversee project completion.
  • Coordinate contractors and vendors to complete work at all assigned Goodwill sites.
  • Ensure all work performed by Goodwill staff, external vendors, and landlords meets state and local municipality requirements, building codes, and quality standards.
  • Lead facility-related communication to all assigned sites, ensuring internal customers are aware of work order statuses, prioritization needs, and organizational ROI.
  • Communicate with the Facilities Manager, site leadership, service contractors, landlords, and others to coordinate repair activities.
  • Disassemble, repair, replace, adjust, and reassemble mechanical equipment and tools; inspect completed repairs; perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain parts and tool inventory in vehicles; keep the maintenance shop organized and supplied.
  • Maintain all training requirements for the position and seek continuous development opportunities.
  • Cross-train and assist in other areas to build skills and value within the department.

Requirements

  • Facilities Expertise: Oversee full-lifecycle construction projects, including planning, implementation, quality inspections, and supervision of staff and subcontractors. Ensure safety, quality, and customer service standards are met. Budget for supplies, equipment, and labor. Read and interpret architectural drawings.
  • Strategic Partner: Comprehend divisional/departmental challenges and reframe them through creative solutions. Use strong reasoning skills and gather information from various resources to make informed decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Articulate thoughts effectively using oral, written, visual, and non-verbal communication. Deliver information in person, in writing, and digitally.
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid knowledge of G Suite, MS Office Suite, and the internet. Prior CMMS experience for work orders and PM checklists is a plus.
  • Information Monitoring/Reporting: Collect and review information to manage or improve processes. Complete assigned reports and interpret financial data for communication.
  • Organizational Aptitude: Plan and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail, quality, and deadlines.
  • Customer Focus: Build and maintain customer satisfaction with a professional and positive attitude. Provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Autonomy: Take initiative, complete tasks without direction, and take ownership of mistakes.
  • Strong Work Ethic: Demonstrate professionalism, drive, high-quality work, organization, and timeliness with minimal supervision.
  • Safety Awareness: Recognize risks, apply control measures, and follow safety protocols.
  • Background Screening: Pass a pre-employment background check. Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and qualify under the district’s insurance carrier. Pass a 10-point drug screen pre-hire, during promotions, and after accidents.
  • Physical Work: Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch for over 8 hours. Use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. Climb, balance, talk, and hear. Lift and move up to 50 pounds. Manage exposure to loud noises, weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, electrical shock, and vibration.
  • Visual Acuity: Close, distance, peripheral, and color vision abilities, with the ability to adjust focus.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
