Senior Facilities Electrician

About the role

Varda is a space technology company focused on developing commercial space infrastructure. Our W-Series vehicles, including pharmaceutical processing payloads, reentry capsules, heat shields, and satellite buses, are designed and built in-house. Varda aims to bridge the gap between space innovation and Earth's needs, such as producing life-saving medicines and advanced optical fibers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of building systems, lighting, and equipment.
• Install, test, and inspect electrical systems and components to ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes.
• Oversee electrical aspects of construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects.
• Maintain and update electrical schematics, panels, and as-built documentation.
• Supervise, train, and mentor junior electricians and maintenance staff.
• Collaborate with Facilities leadership on preventive maintenance programs and capital projects.
• Support emergency response and after-hours repairs as needed.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, and internal safety protocols.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical trade certification required.
• Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician License (CA).
• 5+ years of progressive electrical experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional settings.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, OSHA safety standards, and energy systems.
• Prominent experience leading projects and mentoring staff.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in facilities management, building automation, or energy efficiency systems.
• Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Work Environment

• 100% onsite role.
• May involve climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working at heights or in confined spaces.
• Exposure to electrical hazards and mechanical systems; PPE required.
• Ability to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends, as needed.

Pay Range

Hourly Salary range: $35.00 - $48.00/hour
