About the role

As a Dry Etch Equipment Maintenance Technician at Micron Technology in Manassas, Virginia, you are responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the equipment and/or processes in the assigned area, while working in partnership with production team members and area engineers. Shift Technicians monitor tool performance, schedule and perform preventative maintenance on assigned tool sets, and use mechanical, electronic and PC/software skills to solve and repair equipment issues while embracing Artificial Intelligence to perform those tasks more efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with equipment installs and tests
  • Creating and modifying equipment procedures
  • Increasing tool uptime through systematic problem solving and fixing, quality workmanship, thoroughly documenting all maintenance performed in established check sheets and tracking programs, and routine review of maintenance check sheets and procedures
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and addressing SPC issues for area processes on a daily basis and responding to SPC out of control issues
  • Keeping the Lead Tech and/or Lead Engineer updated on tool and area issues

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Semiconductor Equipment Maintenance, specifically working on vacuum systems (preferred)
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of AC/DC circuits including fundamentals of electricity, and basic electronic components and circuits
  • Basic understanding of physics concepts and principles, SPC principles and proper application, and semiconductor equipment
  • Basic knowledge of test and calibration equipment (O-scopes, multimeters, DMMs, etc.)
  • Flexibility with job responsibilities and shift assignments including night shift
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts (3 on/4 off and 4 on/3 off) with the need to stand the entire shift and lift equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two-year industry-related associate degree; working towards a STEM-related degree; or equivalent military training and experience
  • Prior experience maintaining High Vacuum systems: roughing pumps, turbo pumps, cryo pumps, pressure measurement systems
  • Maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting experience with plasma RF systems and semiconductor-type plasma etch tools such as LAM (KIYO, EXELAN, FX, FLFX), AMAT CENTURA, MESA, PRODUCER, ENABLER, or TEL (DRM, SCCM, VIGUS, VESTA)
  • Experience with multiple robotic systems and proficiency in operation, maintenance, and repair
  • Experience with training and mentoring technicians
