Senior F5 Load Balancer Engineer
Job Summary
Looking for a candidate with 10+ years of experience to serve as a Senior F5 Load Balancer Engineer. The role requires deep expertise in F5 Networks and VMware AVI, along with a strong background in enterprise networking, application infrastructure, and security. The engineer will lead the design and integration of load‑balancing solutions, define best practices, standards, and frameworks, and collaborate closely with internal banking teams, lines of business, and external vendors. Hands‑on experience delivering high‑ and low‑level designs, implementing and troubleshooting production environments, and providing Level 3 support for critical services is essential. Strong programming and scripting skills (Python, Perl, Java, JavaScript) and the ability to understand full application flows across underlying networks are required. The role also includes ownership of end‑to‑end documentation, capacity and threshold planning, workload management, lifecycle management of load‑balancing platforms, and participation in feature enhancements, certifications, and vendor engagements with F5.

Key Responsibilities
- Background with network scripting and programming.
- Serve as SME for load balancing, specifically F5 Networks and VMware AVI.
- Strong network background including engineering, design, and troubleshooting.
- Strong network and application security expertise; understand application flows and underlying networks.
- Programming and scripting knowledge including Python, Perl, Java, and JavaScript.
- Lead and design application‑infrastructure integration framework; outline best practices and standards.
- Participate in project calls and work with internal bank groups and lines of business to gather detailed technical requirements.
- Responsible for high‑level design of load‑balancing infrastructure and related changes.
- Responsible for low‑level design (configuration details) for load balancing; hands‑on experience required.
- Perform implementations or provide detailed hand‑over information to implementation teams as needed.
- Provide Level 3 support and direction for production‑related issues.
- Document end‑to‑end load‑balancing designs.
- Establish capacity/threshold management plans and workload management details.
- Work with external vendors (F5) on chronic issues, bugs, and feature enhancements.
- Participate in and guide new feature enhancements, code updates, and certifications.
- Assist with lifecycle management of the load‑balancing product set.

Salary Range
$105,000 - $115,000 a year
