Senior Executive Analyst, The Office Of Economic Development & Cultural Affairs

Limited-term (18-month) position within the City Manager's Office of Economic Development and Cultural Affairs (OEDCA).

About the role

Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of two significant civic initiatives:

• The City’s 250th Anniversary celebration, culminating on November 29, 2027
• The 70th Anniversary of the San José-Okayama Sister City Relationship, including planning and coordination for commemorative activities and preparation for hosting the official Japanese delegation in 2028

Serve as the central coordinator for these high-profile initiatives, working closely with City departments, Mayor and Council District Offices, community organizations, cultural institutions, neighborhood groups, businesses, and other stakeholders. Develop and implement coordinated programs that celebrate San José’s rich history, international partnerships, diverse communities, and aspirations for the future.

Responsibilities

• Lead project management for major civic events, ensuring timely and successful execution
• Build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and cultural partners
• Coordinate cross-departmental efforts and align resources to support event goals
• Develop strategic plans for commemorative activities and delegations
• Manage complex initiatives with high public visibility and diverse partner involvement

Pay

$117,433.68 - $179,397.40 annually
