Senior Exams Analyst

About the role

This role is a 12-month limited-term position located in Yolo County, California (West Sacramento).

Responsibilities

• Lead exam analyses
• Facilitate subject matter expert workshops
• Construct exam content
• Ensure defensibility and validity
• Cookordination with classification and hiring partners
• Contribute to the broader strategy of how CAL FIRE builds and maintains its eligibility pipelines

Requirements

• Experience in the craft of exam design
• Technical understanding of job analysis, item writing, and rating scale design
• Strong writing and data skills
• Ability to communicate exam design principles clearly to SMEs, hiring managers, and candidates

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Education, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in selection and examination services
• Knowledge of civil service examination laws and regulations
• Experience with statistical analysis tools and software

Skills

• Expertise in exam design and validation
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
