Senior Events Manager
Location: New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and other major US locations
Working Model: Hybrid - 3 days in the office
Contract Type: Ongoing contract role (12+ months)
Hourly Rate: $55-$70/hour, depending on location and experience
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Event Manager to join a leading global financial services organization on an ongoing contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of high-profile events, combining strategic planning with hands-on execution across in-person, virtual and hybrid formats. Working closely with senior stakeholders, marketing teams and external partners, you will manage events from concept through execution and post-event analysis, delivering exceptional experiences that support regional business priorities. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, multicultural environments and combines creativity with strong project management skills.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the end-to-end planning and execution of strategic external B2B events across North America
- Design event experiences aligned to marketing campaigns, business objectives, and regional priorities
- Manage vendors, agencies, venues, production partners, and other external suppliers
- Oversee guest management processes including invitations, registration, attendee communications, and post-event reporting
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal clients, stakeholders, and business leaders
- Ensure events are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with corporate brand standards
- Collaborate with global event management colleagues to maintain consistency and share best practices
- Support regional enablement initiatives including onboarding, training, and knowledge sharing
- Monitor event performance and provide reporting and recommendations for continuous improvement
- Drive operational excellence across all phases of event delivery
Requirements
- 7+ years of event management experience within a corporate, B2B, financial services, or professional services environment
- Proven experience managing complex event portfolios across multiple countries or regions
- Strong expertise in logistics, vendor management, stakeholder engagement, and onsite event delivery
- Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into successful event strategies and experiences
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience working within multicultural and cross-functional environments
- Proficiency with event technology platforms and reporting tools, including Microsoft Dynamics or similar systems
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout North America and occasionally internationally
