About the role
The Senior Event Sales Specialist plays a crucial role in converting and closing high-value group bookings, ranging from standard social events to large-scale corporate buyouts. This position requires navigating complex multi-stakeholder sales cycles and building long-term relationships with clients.
Responsibilities
- Own the full sales cycle for groups of 13 and above, from initial contact to contract closure.
- Navigate multi-stakeholder decision-making processes and manage longer timelines for larger events.
- Match clients to the right venues, packages, and custom experiences tailored to their needs.
- Develop and expand a portfolio of high-value accounts through consistent prospecting and relationship management.
- Work toward a quarterly quota, paid monthly on a tiered basis, with stronger performance leading to higher earnings.
- Pass leads to the Call Center or Enterprise segments if the lead is under 12 guests or a top corporate account, respectively.
- Lead BEO meetings and ensure flawless event execution from contract signing to celebration.
- Partner with venue operations teams to ensure smooth event execution.
- Manage retention outreach to bring past guests back and pass qualifying leads to the right segment.
- Follow up post-event to deepen relationships and grow repeat and referral pipelines.
- Show up during peak hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Proven background in group or event sales, hospitality, or a related field, with experience in large or complex events.
- Track record of managing a high-value pipeline and closing deals with multiple decision-makers.
- Confident prospector who builds relationships naturally and follows through consistently.
- Strong communicator and presenter, able to tailor pitches to various audiences.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with experience handling multiple moving parts in large events.
- Feedback-driven and coachable, treating each debrief as an opportunity to improve.
- Comfortable with Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, and GEMS.
- Adaptable, capable of handling diverse scenarios from small social events to large corporate buyouts.
