Senior Estimator - Civil

Flare Construction, LLC, a Quanta Services Company, is hiring a Senior Estimator for our Civil Division in Coalville, Utah. The OpportunityAs Senior Estimator, you will lead the development of accurate, competitive cost estimates for our Civil Division, from quantity takeoff through bid submission. You will price right-of-way (ROW) development, substation sitework, datacenter earthwork, and general site development projects. You will also finalize bid packages, guide pricing decisions, and mentor other estimators, using real production data to set projects up for success. What You Will Do• Lead estimates in HeavyBid for earthwork, grading, drainage, access roads, aggregate, clearing, and SWPPP scopes• Perform and verify quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam, Trimble Business Center, and plan-based calculations• Apply and refine production rates from the division database, and direct updates using closeout data• Review and finalize bid packages, including assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, and qualifications• Solicit, level, and negotiate subcontractor and vendor quotes• Lead pricing sessions, risk reviews, and post-bid reviews (win or lose)• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to confirm field conditions that affect pricing• Build cost code structures that align with HeavyJob for a clean handoff to project teams• Train and mentor estimators, and report bid status to division leadership What You Bring• 3 to 5 years of civil construction estimating experience (scope and complexity of prior bids considered)• Working knowledge of HeavyBid or equivalent heavy civil estimating software, and digital takeoff tools• Strong understanding of earthwork, grading, utility, and site development methods and sequencing• Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports• Ability to manage multiple bids at once, with strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach• High school diploma or GED; OSHA 10 required Preferred• Experience in power transmission ROW, substation, or datacenter civil construction• Familiarity with the HCSS suite (HeavyBid, HeavyJob)• Experience within a Quanta Services operating company or similar infrastructure organization• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)• OSHA 30 and a professional estimating certification Working ConditionsOffice-based in Coalville, UT, with occasional pre-bid meetings and jobsite visits. Travel is up to 10%. The role is primarily seated with extended computer work, occasional lifting up to 25 lbs, and walking uneven terrain during site visits. PPE is required on project sites.
