Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates at various stages of design and construction
- Review drawings, specifications, and other documentation to ensure estimates reflect project scope
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to align cost expectations with design intent
- Evaluate bids, proposals, and subcontractor pricing for accuracy and completeness
- Support change order evaluations and construction budget management
- Aid in value engineering, identify cost-saving opportunities, and present recommendations
- Maintain historical cost data, unit pricing databases, and market trend reports
- Mentor junior estimators and participate in continuous improvement of estimating processes
- Ensure all estimating activities comply with Parkhill’s QA/QC standards
- Participate in internal and external meetings related to cost planning and construction services
- Develop quantity take-offs using digital methods
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Minimum 8 years of estimating experience in architecture, engineering, or construction services
- Strong understanding of AEC industry, construction means and methods, materials, building codes, and project phases, especially during construction administration
- Proficiency in estimating software
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Prioritize managing multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
