Senior Estimator
About the role
Murphy Company, established in 1907, is seeking a Senior Estimator for its Estimating team based in St. Louis, MO. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of estimator experience in Plumbing, HVAC, and Process Piping for institutional, laboratory, pharmaceutical, brewery, healthcare, and industrial projects.
Responsibilities
- Leading all estimates up to $20M
- Compiling accurate bid documents, including take-offs and summaries of materials, fixtures, and equipment
- Evaluating labor, material, and equipment costs
- Managing multiple, simultaneous projects
- Managing subcontractor and equipment quotes
- Understanding construction field conditions and preparing schedules
- Soliciting and evaluating multiple subcontractor and equipment quotes
- Accurately compiling a summary of materials, equipment, and labor
- Understanding construction field conditions, means and methods, and project schedules
- Using Quickpen / Autobid software
- Using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and Bluebeam
Requirements
- Process Piping expertise
- Plumbing, HVAC, and Sheet metal knowledge (a plus)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications
- 10+ years Estimator experience
- Experience managing multiple, simultaneous projects
- Knowledge of construction field conditions, means and methods, and project schedules
- Ability to accurately compile a summary of materials, equipment, and labor
- Experience using Quickpen / Autobid software
- Experience using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and Bluebeam
