VERSANT (Nasdaq: VSNT) is an industry-changing media and entertainment business and home to trusted brands that shape culture, inform audiences, and build lasting connections. It operates across four core markets: political news and opinion, business news and personal finance, golf, and sports and genre entertainment. These markets are served through a portfolio of iconic and innovative brands, including CNBC, MS NOW, USA Network, Golf Channel, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, and Versant's sports division USA Sports, along with complementary digital assets such as Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, and GolfPass.

About the role

CNBC is looking for a sharp, insightful senior equity analyst who can uncover compelling investment ideas and write or explain them on air with clarity and authority. The ideal candidate will identify opportunities through deep research, rigorous analysis of company financials and market trends, and conversations with leading analysts and investors. They should be comfortable reaching out to C-suite executives or reporting on the ground to gather insights firsthand.

Fluency in balance sheets, income statements, and valuation metrics is essential, as is the ability to recognize when changes in these figures may signal a shift in a company’s prospects. The role requires being well-sourced among Wall Street professionals and skilled at turning those relationships into actionable insights and fresh perspectives. Writing and on-air analysis should combine the depth of a Wall Street analyst with the accessibility of a skilled communicator, helping CNBC’s audience understand not just what to buy or sell, but the thinking behind each idea.

  • Collaborate with teams to produce high-quality content.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience writing similar content at another major publication.
  • Passion for investing and uncovering new trends on Wall Street.
  • Strong journalistic writing and research skills.

  • Collaborative approach and willingness to work with teams.
  • Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Hybrid work arrangement, with a minimum of three days per week in the office.

Qualifications

  • Clips of well-researched investment ideas that went on to be successful.
  • Established relationships with Wall Street investors and analysts.
  • Deep understanding of company fundamentals.
  • Past experience analyzing companies.
  • MBA and/or CFA credential (preferred).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced digital newsroom.

  • Gourmet cafeteria with daily specials, plus soup and salad bars.
  • Onsite dry cleaning services.
  • Free shuttle transportation to and from multiple locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Hoboken, and Jersey City.
