About the role
Our client, a leader in the global asset management industry, is seeking a skilled Senior Analyst, Private Equity Operations to join their team in Needham, MA. This permanent, salaried position focuses on executing and managing all operational activities within the private deal approval process, deal execution/settlement, and full lifecycle management, including IPO, restriction tracking, corporate actions, and liquidity events. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with a strong background in Private Equity and Asset Management, capable of driving high-impact operational processes.
Responsibilities
- Execute all components of the private equity deal lifecycle, with a primary focus on deal approval, pre/post execution process, lifecycle events, IPO and liquidity exits, and corporate actions.
- Coordinate all aspects of the deal approval and lifecycle management processes directly with private issuers and internal teams, including Legal Counsel, Trading, Fund Services & Business, Valuations, and back-office teams.
- Analyze legal documentation (e.g., Stock Purchase Agreements, Subscription Agreements, Merger Agreements) related to private transactions to operationalize each deal.
- Track deal covenants, restrictions, and position changes for new and existing deals, especially during security creation and lifecycle events.
- Review and resolve discrepancies on reconciliation reports—cash/position/security master—to ensure the investment book of record is accurate daily.
- Adapt and evolve processes, controls, workflows, and systems to support new private funds and asset classes.
- Support data needs for all functional teams involved in the private process, particularly for performance and internal/LP reporting.
Requirements
- 4-10 years of experience supporting the end-to-end lifecycle of private equity, real estate, evergreen, and secondaries investments.
- Deep expertise in Private Equity and Asset Management is non-negotiable.
- Experience reviewing private investment legal documents, restriction tracking, corporate actions, and trade execution/settlement, with a working knowledge of private fund structures.
- Strong understanding of private equity investment concepts across asset classes (equity, real estate, fund of funds, PIPEs).
- Experience with industry technology and platforms (e.g., Dynamo, EDGAR, SEC.gov, IVP, Bellwether, Geneva).
- Ability to leverage technical skills to improve operational processes (e.g., SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Excel macros, AI).
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills.
Pay
$120,000 - $225,000
