Senior Equity Analyst & Reporter

Job Description

CNBC is looking for a sharp, insightful senior equity analyst who can uncover compelling investment ideas and write or explain them on air with clarity and authority. This person will:

• Identify opportunities through deep research, rigorous analysis of company financials and market trends, and conversations with leading analysts and investors.
• Reach out to C-suite executives or report on the ground to gather insights firsthand.
• Be fluent in balance sheets, income statements, and valuation metrics, and recognize shifts in these figures that signal a change in a company’s prospects.
• Turn relationships with Wall Street professionals into actionable insights and fresh perspectives.
• Combine the depth of a Wall Street analyst with the accessibility of a skilled communicator, helping CNBC’s audience understand both what to buy or sell and the thinking behind each idea.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of writing similar content at another major publication
• A passion for investing and uncovering new trends on Wall Street
• Strong journalistic writing and research skills
• The ability to work effectively in a high-intensity environment, often under tight deadline pressures
• A collaborative approach that welcomes working with teams
• Clips of well researched investment ideas that went on to be successful
• Established relationships with Wall Street investors and analysts
• Deep understanding of company fundamentals
• Past experience analyzing companies
• MBA and/or CFA credential
• Experience working in a fast-paced digital newsroom

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
