Key job responsibilities
- Act as the WW technical expert for equipment development. This includes taking a leading role in equipment testing and validation.
- Lead idea generation for innovative design/equipment solutions to existing operational problems.
- Create documentation for equipment solutions, such as design definitions, quality specifications, assembly instructions and equipment design standards, etc.
- Generate structured plan to turn innovative equipment design solutions from ideas to assessment, pilot and finally expansion
- Own and deliver against plans, providing network reporting, financial approval and leadership approval for all stages of program progression
- Act as technical expert in area of ownership, providing technical expertise to other Engineering teams, alongside providing technical challenge for suppliers and partners
- Build large-scale business proposals based on innovation designs for WW Ops Engineering, often with ambiguity; collaborate with WHS, Planning, Launch, Procurement, Finance, HR, external partners and product teams to ensure project completion (on time and within budget)
- Ensure customer satisfaction by following through with requests and ensuring needs are met as accurately and immediately as possible
- Own internal process innovations across the Engineering Org, including owning road-mapping and planning for given area of responsibility and ensuring roadmap is delivered
- Coordinate with Tech/Software teams, driving the operational execution of software enhancements as well as ensuring the software supports the physical design/process innovations
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of design & innovation, research & development work experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a foreign equivalent
- Experience in management of engineering design projects
- Experience using business or technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of specialty (with progressive responsibility) experience
- Master's degree in Engineering (any domain), Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
- Knowledge of concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, electronic system design, and decision making
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing
- Experience with design-in-safety
