About the role

This position highlights the need for a highly skilled Epilepsy Technologist who will provide technical neurodiagnostic services appropriate to the age of the patient. The role is critical in a Level IV Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, supporting patients in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, ICU, and throughout the medical center.

Responsibilities

  • Subject Matter Expert and assist other Epilepsy Technologists with complex or unique matters.
  • Performs the application and removal of electrodes.
  • Reviews data for seizure activity and abnormalities.
  • Edits data for physician review.
  • Affords assistance to nursing staff during seizures, ensuring patient safety.
  • Participates in seizure testing with patients during their events.
  • Carries out outpatient procedures such as PET, SPECT, Wada and Ambulatory studies.
  • Executes CEEG procedures in the ICU setting.
  • Executes intracranial monitoring in the EMU and OR.
  • Communicates with coworkers and physicians about changes in patient status.
  • Affords assistance to other areas of Diagnostic Neurology.
  • On-call responsibilities for EEG.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in Neurodiagnostic Technology or 18 months experience in a related field required.
  • 3+ Years of experience as an Epilepsy Technologist.
  • Obtains R.EEG T., through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED.

  • 3+ Years of experience as an Epilepsy Technologist.

Pay

$28.55 - $42.85 per hour, based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training.

Schedule

Night shift- Thursday, Friday and Saturday- 4:30pm-5:30am.
