About the role

The Sr. Epic Clinical Systems analyst supports, configures, optimizes, and maintains Epic clinical applications to ensure efficient and effective clinical workflows. This role collaborates with clinicians, IT services, and operational leaders to enhance the Epic electronic health record system.

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements and analyze needs to design solutions that improve clinical workflows.
  • Support ongoing enhancements within the Epic system to reduce manual efforts and improve clinician experience.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight to junior Epic analysts.
  • Partner with Physician Builders to support their build activities.

Requirements

  • Current Epic certification in two or more clinical applications (e.g., EpicCare Inpatient, Ambulatory, Orders, ClinDoc, Stork, Optime, Radiant, Willow, Beacon).
  • Minimum 5 - 8 years’ experience with Epic or other EHR administration.
  • Knowledge of related systems, understanding of HL7, interoperability concepts, and healthcare IT concepts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent 8 years’ experience in healthcare IT field.
  • Advanced Epic certification required and must be obtained within 12 months of hire if not already certified.
  • Clinical licensing or certification preferred such as RN, Pharmacy Tech, et al.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including mentoring team members, leading small projects or initiatives, coordinating cross-functional efforts, and promoting collaboration within and across teams.

Pay

Compensation structure includes a step-based system for staff-level positions and a fixed annual base salary for manager level and above positions, with a variable incentive compensation plan.

Schedule

Normally works eight-hour days, with hours varying according to work demands and project requirements; may require on-call support and occasional evening/weekend hours for system upgrades or go-lives.
